Mobility of Students and Internationalization of Higher Education in
graduate or post graduate studies abroad, the Faculty of Organization and Informatics conducted research with students in undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Information on the students’ self-assessments of their own proficiency relating to foreign languages was collected. The students’ personal accounts while living abroad were investigated, focusing on their experiences in learning a foreign language or receiving professional training. Results of the survey show that students seriously consider the option of temporarily moving to a foreign country, and almost half of them would choose another country for permanent place of residence. They evaluate their proficiency in using foreign languages as fairly good and this does not present an obstacle to moving to another country. The basic motives for a temporary stay in highly developed countries include improving foreign languages, a temporary job and those for permanent stay include economic motives and better possibilities or promotion.
