Map facsimile of the old maps presenting the Croatian cost of the Adriatic Sea

The Institute for Cartography at the Faculty of Geodesy, University of Zagreb has been researching and making facsimiles of old maps for about twenty years. Hence, the facsimiles of the old maps representing the Croatian coastal territory have been made at the Institute so far, among others the facsimiles of the Ptolemy� s Atlas from 1511, on the basis of the oldest publication of Ptolemy� s Geography in Croatia that is kept in Franciscan monastery on the small island Košljun, and of the topographic map resulted from the first or Josephinean (1764-87), the second or Franciscan (1806-69) and the third or Francis-Josephinean (1869-87) survey in Austro-Hungarian Monarchy.
