Experiance on Permeable breakwaters in Croatia
In this paper is presented a review of permeable (floating and fixed) breakwaters as ecological determinable objects for protection of marinas and small ports. Mechanisms of wave attenuation and a general review of permeable breakwaters is presented. Hydraulic characteristics are explained in details and a complexity of efficiency determined by the coefficient of transmission. Strict functional demands for allowed wave agitation in marina basins are analyzed, as well. The common used type of permeable breakwater are analyzed in theoretical and experimental seance, and expressed conditions for its maximal efficiency. At final experiences in planning, hydraulic modelling and constructing of permeable breakwaters in Croatia is presented.
