Some observations of the fluviokrast landscape development in the conditions of the exhumated karst plain (on example on Slunj karst plain, Dinaric karst, Croatia)
The Slunj karst plain is built of the Mesozoic carbonate rocks. On some locations there are the Neogene clastic lacustrine sediments, usually occurring as denudational remains. Primarily, the Neogene sediments covered the biggest part of the plain with well developed surface hydrographic net. Because of the Neogene sediments denudation, the Mesozoic carbonate rocks were exhumed and karstification led to disorganization of the surface hydrographic net. I this area two main types of fluviokarst landscape where explored. These types are spatial fluviokarst landscape with “dolomite” and “canyon” subtypes and contact fluviokarst landscape with “linear” and “mosaic” subtypes. The contact fluvikarst also can have zones with ponor’s, spring’s and neutral characteristics. This work deals with the analysis and comparison between processes and landscape forms in these types and subtypes of fluvikarst landscape, special in the light of exhumation, kastification and neotectonic dynamics.
