Competencies and Attitudes of University Teachers Related to their Acceptance of e-Learning Technology
A number of studies have indicated that the implementation of e-learning in higher education depends on the acceptance of e-learning technology by university teachers, the related competencies of technology, as well as pedagogical knowledge for effective online course design. This paper analyzes the competencies and attitudes of university teachers which are related to their acceptance of e-learning technology. Also, a survey was conducted among the participants of teacher training courses aimed at improving their competence for design and delivery of e-learning courses. This survey revealed overall positive attitudes toward the use of e-learning technology, but also the lack of pedagogical knowledge for effective course design and development of e-learning content.
