THE USAGE OF GIS IN HISTORIC DEVELOPMENT AND RECONSTRUCTION RESEARCH OF THE LOCALITY SALONA

GIS enables simple browsing and finding one's way among complex data necessary for a certain project (photogrammetric, georadar, historical, geological etc.). Since the majority of monuments have become dilapidated due to small investments into their preservation and reconstruction, and during the war many were destroyed, there is a great need to unify the existent data referring to them. This GIS encompasses the historical locality Salona and it is intended for the Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Monuments in Split working on its reconstruction.
