Heat recovery and solar energy in polyester production
This article describes the possibility of energy savings in polyester production. The most intensive heat enery unit operation takes place in autoclave reactor. Considering industrial process data the optimisation with reactor condensate reusing and partial solar energy adoption for selecting location in Croatia are shown. The autoclave reactor condensate is returned to the boiler what results with natural gas savings of about 9%. Solar energy application in process without condensate recovery achives about 67% fuel savings.
