Readiness of the Croatian Ports to Manage International Projects
Legislation, port organisation, founding of port authorities and numerous studies that have been financed by the World Bank represent the basis for the future development of the Croatian ports. The ports are complex and stratified economic service subjects in the function of various customers that are acquiring their positions on the traffic market. Therefore, the study of the readiness of the Croatian ports to manage and participate in international projects represents an important segment of the development of the Croatian port system, especially in the light of the negotiations regarding the integration of the Republic of Croatia into the European Union. There are several criteria that to a certain extent affect the function of objective. The method of analytic hierarchical process is used to synthesise various aspects of ideas and to present a unique common result, i.e. responses to the question of the extent to which the Croatian port system is ready, ready with investments, or not ready to manage international projects.
