Structural change and macro-economic performance
This paper is based on the assumption that conditions in which structural changes take place in certain economies are different. Consequences of deindustrialization, in regards of cutting down the number of employed in Croatia, are not easily compensated with an increased share of services in economy. Although markets are the main initiators of structural changes, economical policy has an important role in facilitating the adjustment process. Restructuring happens within industries and on the level of total economy. Systematic application of successful micro-economical policies would lead to realization of macro-economical goals.
