New technologies and specialized support in educational integration of children with speech and language disorders

Many children with learning and auditory processing difficulties have less developed discrimination phonological skills and auditory perception in unfavourable conditions (reverberation, noise etc.), although their peripheral hearing status is completely normal. Difficulties in filtering the speech message from the background noise additionally aggravate the process of acquisition of the teaching material. That is why the purpose of this research was to examine the effect of EduLink in normal hearing children with auditory processing difficulties enrolled in the complex rehabilitation in the SUVAG Polyclinic. The examination included 18 children of preschool age with speech-language disorders. The effect of EduLink has been observed for six months of its use during group rehabilitation. The control group consisted of the children of the same age and sex also enrolled in the complex rehabilitation according to the principles of the verbotonal method. In this paper we will also show how to use Edu Link in the education process with school age children. The results of the research show positive consequences of everyday use of the device in children with speech-language problems in the combination with the individual speech therapy and special methodological procedures (body movement stimulations and musical stimulations).
