Evaluation of different vaccination programs against Newcastle disease in market turkey's in field conditions
Four flocks of commmercial turkeys were immunised three times via drinking water with live Newcastle disease virus (NDV) vaccine - strain La Sota using different vaccine doses. Two flocks were vaccinated with vaccine containing 10 6,0 median embryo infection doses (EID50/dose), in other two flocks vaccine containing 10 6,5 EID50 was used. Immune response to vaccination was assessed using haemagglutination-inhibition (HI) test, where as for the decay of maternally derived antibodies HI test was compared to commercial ELISA tests. The results of serological testing after vaccination did not indicate that vaccinal titer has any influence on humoral response. Between both compared tests a good agreement was found.
