Heat to Work Efficiency of Convective Vortices as Heat Engines
Convective vortices can be apprehended as heat engines, because there are similarity between the physical working principles. In both cases the output from the system is in the form of the mechanical work. But question is how large is the magnitude of the mechanical work in the case of convective vortices utilization? Concept of mechanical work production, i.e., electricity by utilization of the convective vortices is in the theoretical research. However there were also a several experimental attempts to produce artificial convective vortices which in the essence confirm this possibility. Hence, in this paper the heat to work efficiency of convective vortices as heat engine is analyzed. For that purpose simplified analytical modeling is used to determine heat to work efficiency of the convective vortices. Gained results are compared to research results of other authors.
