Allowable slenderness ratio L/d and reinforcement coefficient ro of one-way, one-span reinforced concrete slabs

This paper presents the analyses of deflections of one-way one-span reinforced concrete slabs. All calculations have been based upon European norms for reinforced concrete structures, ENV 1992 (Eurocode 2 or EC2) and norms for actions on structures, ENV 1991 (Eurocode 1 or EC1). According to this analysis, geometrical and material characteristics of slabs, i.e. allowable slenderness ratio L/d and reinforcement coefficient ro which yield deflections lesser or equal to allowables, have been established. This analysis comprises six different category of spaces, five different service loading q, and three coefficients of quasi-permanent values of variable actions psi2. Consequently the data given in chapter 4, table 4.14, of ENV 1992 have been broadened. Key words Allowable deflection, reinforced concrete slabs, reinforcement coefficient, slenderness
