Croatia is forging ahead to introduce changes in its defense structures. Croatia is reducing and reorganizing its armed forces to meet new budgetary constraints and manpower ceilings. Excellent strategic and operational planning are worth nothing if you have bad platoon commanders on the ground. The armed forces are moving through a transition phase while changing from a war situation to democratic defence standards. Researching the functions and command missions of each individual building block of MOD organizational structure as well as the vertical and horizontal integration. Croatian special forces are trained to the highest standards and we are very advanced with regards to NATO interoperability. Croatian armed forces are probably more flexible and open to change that most of those of former eastern bloc.
