Abrogation of antiproliferative effects of cholestatic serum on human lymphocytes by peptidoglycan-monomer linked with zinc (PGM-Zn)
Since in our previous experiments we observed that peptidoglycan-monomer linked with zinc (PGM-Zn) has immuno and hepato-corrective abilities, in this study we tested its effects in vivo in mice subjected to common bile duct ligation (CBDL) and in vitro on blastic transformation of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMNC). Obstructive jaundice provoked by CBDL induced in mice. The data showed that jaundice induced changes at the level of thymus, liver and spleen, as well as, abrogating properties of icteric serum on blastic trasformation of lymphocytes might partially corrected by PGM-Zn similarly .
