The Attitudes of Patients toward the Acupuncture in Croatia
In our paper we will try to show attitudes of patients toward the acupuncture. Survey has been done as a pilot study. Patients (n=100), 50 of them consulting a general practitioner (GP) and 50 a GPacupuncturist, completed a questionnaire that involved the basic demographic data (age, sex, years of schooling, degree, marital status, number of children and income); medical history (serious illness in last 5 years, chronic illness or psychological problems like stress, insomnia, psychosomatic illness) and familiarization with acupuncture (Were they first time at the acupuncture? Was the acupuncture suggested to them by a GP or they found the information about it in the media? Does it relive the symptoms or cures the illnesses? Is acupuncture scientifically acknowledged? Which types of illnesses would they treat with acupuncture?)
