Designing Inclusive Curriculum
Understanding and acceptance of the diversity and specificities of each member of the community is a gradual, developmental process preceding the inclusion of the children with special needs into a pre-school institution. In its application, inclusion does not represent unique standards for all children, but individualization, i.e. the diversity of their participation in activities, which enables the development of a positive identity of each child irrespective of its abilities. In this way, a new relationship towards everything different is created as well as reciprocal support, not only in the educational system, but also in everyday social and life reality. This paper stresses the importance of curriculum for the inclusion which is characterised by its dynamics, integrating various fields and contents, team approach of experts with a range of competencies and knowledge leading towards compatibility of their action and accomplishing a holistic approach towards child education.
