Organizational Values as Contribution to Organizational Behavior

Organizational values are the foundation for understanding organizational behavior, i.e. impact(s) that individuals, groups and structures have on the behavior within organizations, with the aim of improving organizational effectiveness. The goal of this paper is to determine the ways in which organizational behavior is affected by organizational values as a ‘soft’ data measure indicator of organizational effectiveness as well as the extent of their impact. The role of organizational values in business has been intensively researched over the last few years. Considering that durability and stability are essential features of organizational values, the impact of organizational values on organizational behavior is even stronger than current circumstances within an organization. Finally, specific interactions between organizational values and other values, above all, individual, group and national culture values, also have a direct effect on organizational behavior. Drawing on these dimensions of organizational values, the authors have developed a model of impact of organizational values on organizational behavior which is presented in the paper. The proposed model primarily refers to contemporary business organizations that are industry leaders.
