Hydrothermal synthesis of iron oxide nanorings by Mn-doping

In this work, we successfully control the morphology of iron oxide nanotubes by cation doping. With increased Mn-doping the aspect ratio of iron oxide nanotubes gradually decrease and as a result iron oxide nanorings are formed. The impact of Mn-dopant on the microstructural properties of iron oxide nanoparticles having spindle and nanotube shapes were studied using Mossbauer, FT-IR, FE-SEM and XRD techniques.
