Some new speleological research in mountain part of Croatian karst
The southern part of Velebit mountain and the peak area Crnopac has long attracted the interest of Croatian cavers. Until 1978. year in this area were explored Jama pored puteljcica (in the year 1929), Cave Svetinja (in the year 1948), Lower Cerovacka Cave (lenght 2779 m), Upper Cerovacka Cave (lenght 1295m) and the Central Cerovacka cave (lenght 448 m), which were investigated in more occasions since their discovery in the year of 1912, 1932 and 1965. After the year 1978. over 170 of the exploration area Crnopac were organised. It is explored more than 200 caves. In Gorski kotar region more than 200 new caves were found in last 20 years and deepest one is Stupina jama. Also there were explored many caverns on the route of A-6 highway Zagreb - Rijeka. New neotectonics map of mountain part of Croatia is attached. Also types of speleogenesis were discussed after analyses.
