Globalization is a consequence of development ; it is a process which is caused by new technologies, new economies and an altered social life. In its broadest sense, globalisation is a process that has engulfed the world in political, cultural, scientific, health-care, economic, social, educational and legal terms. It is an irreversible process that needs to be studied and managed for the well being of all people on Earth. Being an activity based on travel for the purpose of leisure, fun and recreation, visiting relatives and friends, attending conferences and congresses, business, participating in advents, educational programs, health program, etc., tourism helps to promote the positive aspects of globalisation. Tourist market provides an opportunity for the Croatian tourism and hospitality offer to achieve the competitiveness based on innovative products and promotion of local values in order to be different from the universal global offer. The paper analyses the synergy of regionalization and globalization with the aim to reposition Croatian tourism on the global market. The decision about the development aims and core objectives will be up to leading personnel and owners – responsible managers who will by their own values and norms decide to more or less respect the common development concept.
