RADIONUCLIDES ON COTTON FABRIC- THE INFLUENCE OF NATURAL ZEOLITE
The aim of present paper is to study radionuclide activity concentration on cotton fabric and noticeable influence of treated textiles with clinoptilolite. Radioactivity of wide range relevant materials and food had been investigated especially from 1986 when Chernobyl strong nuclear accident happened. Meanwhile, textile is not included in this kind of investigations. The present paper is an attempt to start research work with textiles in this field for clarifying its radionuclide in the wide chemical and structural range of textile materials. For this purpose it was firstly needed special determination of NORM (Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material) radioactivity of concentration of cotton fabrics by using gammaspectrometrical analyser. It is HPGe and/or Ge (Li) detector with electronic units and gammaspectrometrical software on a personal computer. Clinoptilolite used in this paper belongs to family of the most widespread zeolites, its wide use in environmental protection as a “filter” could be inexpensive and simultaneously elective. As basically hydrated calcium potassium sodium aluminosilicates clinoptilolite has excellent adsorption properties
