Numerical design of aseismic lightweight concrete masonry wall
This paper presents a procedure of designing a special aseismic reinforced lightweight concrete masonry wall using numerical methods. The complex 2D/1D model and the simple truss model of the three-composite structures were used. The differences between complex and simple models sre shown. Low values of the Young modules of the aerated lightweight concrete compared by modules of the normal concrete and the reinforcing steel ensure using of relatively simple numerical models. That simple model designs aseismic properties of the structures. This model evaluates relations for the design of the wall elements cross section. The kinematics mechanism due yielding of structure is evaluated by this model, also. Numerical results obtained due the analysis show that it has high aseismic strength, because of its high ductility level. The procedures presented by the paper show a way to an easy designing of the aseismic properties of this new kind of structures.
