Physical load of choker-man during pulling of the winch cable
This paper gives an overview of manual pulling forces of the steel cable of skidders Ecotrac 55 V and Ecotrac 120 V and farming winch Tajfun EGV 2 × 50 AHK installed on an adapted farm tractor at different terrain slopes skidders. Steel cable was pulled to a length of 32.5 m. The cable pulling force increased linearly with the pulling length. The highest forces were measured on the highest uphill slope (19°) and the lowest ones were measured on the highest downhill slope (19°). a comparison of the investigated winches has shown that the highest cable pulling forces were measured on the winch of the Ecotrac 120 V skidder due to diameter and large unit weight of the cable, while the lowest forces were measured on the winch of the Ecotrac 55 V skidder. Unexpectedly high forces were measured on the farmi-winch Tajfun EGV 2 × 50 AHK which is equipped with steel cable and has the same characteristics as the winch of the Ecotrac 55 V skidder on which nearly half the lower forces were measured.
