The impact of modelling in the analysis of stress condition in truss girder
The basic assumption that there is a pinned connection in nodes is introduced in the structural analysis of a truss girder. However, in structural practice pinned connections are rarely constructed, and the member connections in nodes are stiff. Due to members’ stiff connection in nodes additional bending moments occur, so that extreme stresses take place in the members’ cross sections borders and in the nodes. The paper focuses on the analysis of the members’ restraint impacts in the nodes on the stress condition of the RC truss girder. The analysis of stresses and strains in RC truss girder was also experimentally conducted by laboratory testing of the truss girder model. The laboratory testing model was created in 1:10 scale from 22 mm thick medium-denisty fibreboard. The model with electric tensometers for measuring strains, and with inductive tensometers for measuring displacements.
