MLP Applied to Distance Protection of a Double-Circuit Line
As neural network model it was used the most common network - multi-layered perceptron (MLP). Because of the mutual coupling of parallel circuits classic distance protection can not calculate correct distance to the fault location, respectively relay "sees" incorrect impedance. This paper proposes adaptive distance protection model. The proposed model makes decision of the relay activation on the base of local measurements (voltage and current). Model is based on the mentioned MLP. Model is on line applicable, tested on double-circuit line from Croatian power system.
