Comparison of results of men's artistic gymnastics competition in the World Gymnastics Championship from 2006 to 2010

The sample of study are gymnasts who competed at the World Championships in men's artistic gymnastics, which held in 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010. The subject of the analysis were the scores that the gymnasts get the exercises shown in the qualifications (C1). From official results we made six variables: Floor Exercise (FX), Pommel Horse (PH), Still Rings (RI), Vault (VT), Parallel Bars (PB) and HIgh BAr (HB. The problem was to determine differences in ratings between the disciplines and the judges commission D, E and the final score (D+E). Final score of the vault is significantly different from the average of all other disciplines for 1, 483 points. The lowest score of all disciplines has pommel horse with 13.266 points, the highest scores is on the vault with 15.115 points. Vault has the lowest deduction by the E judges commission with 9.204 points and the lowest scores on the pommel horse with 8.009 points, which means that the average scores of all the disciplines vault different for 0.476 points. Vault has the highest D scores 6.125 points and the lowest scores on the pommel horse with 5.128 points., which means that the average scores of all disciplines vault different for 0.561 points. From a total of 36 t-tests showed that the three pairs differ significantly at level (p<0, 01). all data were analyzed using the statistical package SPSS 17.0. The results of the study can be used for coaches team competition, all around, individual events, as well as the creators of next Code of Points for the next Olympic cycle.
