Profiling tourists based on healthy-living attitude
Due to increasingly competitive nature of tourism market, tourism destinations are in need to formulate adequate and recognisable tourism offer. In this process, the newest trends in tourism demand like health-care issues are taken into consideration. Consumers’ healthy living attitudes are a part of one’s lifestyle so it can be assumed that they influence decision-making process related to travelling as a tourist. Healthy-living lifestyle is incorporate in tourism as a new form of special interest tourism i.e. wellness tourism. The aim of this paper is to predict a profile of tourists based on their importance of healthy- living. Results are based on primary and secondary sources. Based on the a priori segmentation mean two groups of responders (high and low level importance of healthy-living) were analysed. Country of origin, travel motives, travelling party, information sources and life priorities were significant in distinguishing between the two groups.
