Additive and multiplicative strain decomposition in large strain elastoplastic response
A numerical analysis of nonlinear elastoplastic material behaviour in large strain elastoplastic response such as metal forming process is presented. Two elastoplastic models are presented: one of them based on additive decomposition of strain tensor while second one is based on multiplicative decomposition of deformation gradient into elastic and plastic parts. A computer software based on the multiplicative decomposition is developed and applied to the metal forming process, particularly to the cold rolling of aluminium. A comparison of results obtained from authors' software with other results based on additive split available in literature is also provided.
