Status of plant available phosphorus and potassium (AL-method) in eastern Croatia
In the period 2003-2010, total 18385 soil samples (0-30 cm of depth) covering 55084 ha of cultivable lands were taken in four counties (c) of the eastern Croatia as follows: Vukovar-Sirmium (VSc), Osijek-Baranya (OBc), Brod-Posavina (BPc) and Virovitica-Podravina (VPc) with aim recommendation of soils fertilization according their nutritional status. In this study distribution plant available phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) availability ranges (AL-method) was shown. The most soil samples collected from the OBc (77.7% of samples and 84.1 % of tested acreage) and VSc (15.7 % and 12.7 %, respectively). AL-soluble P status in soil of BPc is considerably less favorable because 35 % of tested samples were in range the lowest group (< 5 mg P2O5/100 g) and next 25 % in the group of the low P status (5.1 – 12.0 mg P2O5/100 g). Soil P status in VSc and OBc have been considerably better because less than 10 % of samples were in the group of the lowest P availability. Also, 35 % of samples VSc and 41% samples of OBc have been in the groups of good P availabilities (> 20 mg P2O5/100 g). The most unfavorable distribution of AL-soluble K was found in soil of VPc because 67 % of samples were in the groups less than 19 mg K2O/100 g and only 3 % in the groups above 30 mg K2O/100 g. Analogical comparison for the soils of VSc was 23 % and 17 %, and for OBc 29 % and 20 %, respectively.
