ATTITUDES AND MOTIVATION OF SWEDISH AND SPANISH YOUNG LEARNERS
This paper mainly focuses on the study of motivation, which is one of the most researched fields in education theory in recent years, and it promises to continue to be very prolific and relevant for future researchers. Motivation has proven to be a determining factor when it comes to the ultimate success or failure of a second/foreign language learner, while learners' attitudes towards teachers, FL classroom, the target language and its community, and finally towards themselves are connected with motivation in an unbreakable way. Young learners in particular need to be motivated in order to be successful in learning a second/foreign language. The overall results of the study carried out in Spain and Sweden with young learners of English confirm the importance of motivation, instrumental motivation being the most prominent type in both countries.
