INSTRUMENTAL U HRVATSKIM STIHOVIMA SREDNJEGA VIJEKA
This article gives a detailed analysis of the meaning, position and the syntactical function of the instrumental case in the old Croatian language, based on the research of the corpus of medieval Croatian poetry. Attention has been given to the important differences between the syntax of the instrumental case in Old Croatian language compared to it’s syntax in modern Croatian standard language. The corpus is made of the medieval Croatian poems and dramatic texts written in Old Croatian (mainly Old Chakawian) language. The oldest among them date from the middle of the 14. century, while the youngest are from the first half of the 16. century.
