When is oral treatment appropriate in MRSA infection?
Most authors agree that uncomplicated SSTI can be treated with oral antibiotics and for severe infections early switch to oral therapy after initial parenteral therapy is adwocated owing to pharmacoeconomic considerations. A number of oral antibiotics demonstrate excellent in vitro activity against MRSA, but there is a need for more well designed, controlledclinical studieswith these agents.
