Semiclassical limit

H-measures (or microlocal defect measures) were introduced independently by Luc Tartar and Patrick Gérard. Their insufficiency is that they do not see characteristic lengths which appear very often in physical problems, so this prompted the introduction of new objects, semiclassical measures. In this presentation we show Tartar's approach to defining semiclassical measures from which it can be very easily seen the connection between H-measures and semiclassical measures. Also, this method gives a useful way of applying the semiclassical limit which we show on the example of the Schrödinger equation.
