Little meteorologist - workshop and booklet for pupils

The “Little meteorologist” workshop has been taking place at the Science Festival in Zagreb since 2007 where the audience includes the general public. Since 2009 the project has been introduced as an extracurricular school activity in some primary schools where the main audience is children and teachers. Instruction sheets for several experiments were prepared for the workshop which formed the basis of the booklet. The booklet is intended to be an interesting and entertaining introduction to some basic meteorological terms and phenomena for pupils. Children can use this booklet independently in their free time but at the same time it can be a valuable source of ideas for teachers who want to enrich their teaching with some practical contents. Publication of the booklet is planned for the spring 2011. Here, the methods used in the workshop as well as the evaluation results of the workshops that were held in schools will be shown. Furthermore, the content of the booklet will be presented.
