Self-determination of Peoples - a Chronic Problem of Humankind

The article deals with problems that self-determination of peoples causes at present in many parts of the world. The author analyzes the Charter of the United Nations as the first relevant international instrument containing provisions on self-determination. He continues with the presentation of the development of the right to self-determination in the period of decolonization and the end of the Cold War, with special reference to the situation in the territory of former Yugoslav Republics and Kosovo.
