Electron Track Seeding Commissioning from 7 TeV Data

Results on the commissioning of the electron track seeds reconstruction in the CMS experiment are presented. The analysis makes use of the 2010 data collected at the LHC during the run B at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{;s};_{;pp}; = 7$~TeV and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $\ensuremath{;{;\cal L};_{;\mathrm{;int};};}; \sim 14.5 ~\ensuremath{;\mathrm{;pb^{;-1};};};$. Electron/photon triggered events and a W selection are used to assess the performance of the electron seed reconstruction algorithm for prompt and isolated electrons in the $p_{;T};$ region beyond 25~GeV/c. The variables used in the seeding filtering step are compared to full Monte Carlo simulation and problems spotted by the analysis of the first data and their resolution are reported.
