Factors affecting construction costs of forest roads in the Forest Administration Gospić
This paper describes the methodology of collecting field data necessary for realizing main forest road projects in Croatia. Major problems of developing horizontal and vertical alignment which designers have to face when desiging forest roads in the mountainous area are indicated here. Field measurements were carried out in the Gospić Forest Administration between 2004 and 2009. Gospić FA is located in the mountainous region of Croatia. Data was collected in three Forest offices: Brinje, Korenica and Udbina. Using computer program STATISTICA 8.1 (StatSoft, Inc. 2010) a total of 40 major projects were analyzed and they consisted of forest roads of the total length of 68.69 km. When data analysis was applied to multiple regression, the independent variable was the price of forest roads construction (€/km), and the dependent variables were changed due to the search of the best regression model.
