Energy Savings by Flux Optimisation in AC Motors with Frequency Drives

The paper emphasises the energy saving possibilities of AC motors controlled by frequency drives with the implementation of a Direct Torque Control algorithm. Energy savings should be achieved by flux optimisation in the AC motor, based on a motor driven working machine load. Electrical energy consumption was measured on different types of machines, driven during the normal production in a multipurpose chemical synthesis plant.
