The Use of Forest Management Models

Theoretical mathematical achievements, supported by computers, have reached levels at which very complex practical problems can be solved. However, despite this "perfection" of mathematical tools, mathematical models are applied rarely in forestry or not at all. Proper management with forests falls within the scope of the world problems in term of energy, natural resources and quality of life. Forests should be managed strategically. The paper presents the development of concrete forest management model and discuss the problems of its formulation and application.
