Re-establishing HMI and control system of facility for alcohol fermentation
In this paper the design and elements of human-machine interface, HMI and control systems for alcoholic fermentation facility is presented. The starting point of the new system was an existing conventional HMI system. Because the user centred approach to design schema a new system is partly based on a former conventional HMI system and partly on exploitation of the new possibilities offered by used technology. Common HMI elements were chosen over the specific task-oriented HMI system because of future expansions, interconnection with higher-level management systems and user specific preferences. The new control system was designed for a continuous production process of alcohol fermentation. Certain design and implementation problems are discussed and problems requiring additional research identified. Regardless of the deficiencies the final user’s – operators were able to quickly and successfully adopt the new HMI system after short training.
