Images d'Europe vue de la Croatie
After breaking up with the socialist order at the first democratic elections of 1990, Croatia accepted the path towards entering the European Union as the most desirable direction of the countrie's development. Thirteen years later this aim still remains the main imperative of Croatia's foreign policy. However the image of Europe from the Croatian perspective, after the experience of practical contacts and negotiations with the European organizations and collaborators, is much more ambiguous than it was at the beginning of the period of transition. The process of multisemantisation of the notion "Europe" in the Croatian public oppinion apparently took place. With the aim of investigating that process, this paper deals with the acquiring of the additional controversal meanings by the syntagms such as "European action in international crisis", "Europe and the rule of law", "European politics of multicvulturalism" and others.
