BI in practice – developing credit risk reporting module

A system designed for credit risk reporting in banking is presented in this paper. It is used as a data source for analysis of credit risk exposure and credit risk trends. Transformations used to deliver data in suitable format, to facilitate reporting and decision making, include usage of rather complicated and sophisticated methodologies with the goal of presenting and grouping data on different levels of granularity. As the credit risk evaluation is mainly related to a particular client, reports must also be presented on the finest level of data granularity, which is not completely compatible with the idea of ad hoc and global trends analysis. The model of entire system, as well as basic guidelines related to the logical design of such systems will be presented.
