Modern systems to increase safety and efficiency of marine vessels in heavy sea conditions
The majority of maritime accidents occur most often because of increasing traffic density, especially in the channels and approaches to major ports, extreme meteorological and oceanographic conditions in correlation with heavy sea state. The consequence of such accidents could be ship’s damage and accidents that result in the loss of human life and serious pollution of the marine environment. Modern technologies and new methods of ships construction, better legislation at all levels, and better education and training of crew and passengers were significantly reduced damage and loss of human life at sea in recent years. This paper will analyze the maritime accidents that are primarily caused by dangerous weather occurrences and severe sailing conditions i.e. with those involving the weather and oceanographic conditions witch subsequently increased ships damages and human losses. Some proposal for the implementation of appropriate measures to enhance ship's safety and reduce pollution of marine environment in heavy weather conditions at sea will be given in this paper .
