Supervisory control of the produced fruit brandy
Bearing in mind the convergence of Croatia EU and the need for better protection and preparation of the economic sector for entrance to the unique market, it will have to be satisfied specific and strict requirements for food products quality. Europe is known for its diversity of food products and beverages. Food products and beverages, along with gastronomy, are a crucial element of the cultural identity of European peoples and regions. One of the greatest values of European agriculture is its reputation for producing quality food products. Consumers in Europe and around the world have shown increasing specific interest in quality about food products. Therefore, there is a space for new product quality control systems. Our goal is the standardization and better quality control of produced fruit brandy. An important aspect in local brandy production is the supervision of small and medium distilleries in order to monitor the quantity and quality of the produced fruit brandy. The main problem here lies in the large number of small distilleries, often located in remote areas and the inability to track the quantity of the produced brandy. The innovation is in interconnecting these distilleries into an online device cloud environment. The monitoring and supervision of all distilleries is enabled remotely. Besides the monitored quantity of the produced brandy, the quality is guaranteed by the estimators implemented in the embedded system, using various parameters for the estimation. This system would have the ability to estimate the amount of harmful by-products and the desirable distillation products. The more successful fraction separation of distillate components in comparison with traditional equipment will be achieved. With this the quality of the produced fruit brandy is guaranteed. Also, the possibility of remote control of the distilleries is proposed as well, bringing new technologies in to the production of fruit brandies. Mathematical modelling and optimization of process parameters, as well as the development of an embedded system for automated process control in order to produce fruit brandies of high and standard quality will be performed. Furthermore, the possibility of implementing this automation procedure in industrial scale will be considered. The planned project would be focused mainly to small and medium family farms for the production of brandy, which will allow producers to become more competitive on the market.
