Equilibrium Curves Interaction and Imperfection Sensitivity of a Shallow Truss

This paper presents the stability problem of a shallow truss structures. The structure consists of two truss element mutually connected in the apex node. In this work we observe the interaction of critical stability modes for two cases. In the first case, the limit load induces yielding axial force of a truss element. In the second case, the limit load induces local buckling of member without material yielding. This results in coupling of equilibrium postcritical branches.
