Recepcija Begovićevih djela za Nezavisne Države Hrvatske (1941-1945)

The basic aim of the work is to draw attention to literary critic, literary-historic and culturological facts and curiosities that witness about the reception of Begović's work in NDH (The Independent State of Croatia). Frequent publishing of works of one of the greatest Croatian authors who accepted NDH and the presence of Begović's plays on the NDH stages and particulary abroad, are direct signs of the interest for begović's work at that time. Some tens of articles considering Begović's work had been written in various literary-critic and journalist genres, in Croatian newpapers and magazines as well as in the foreign ones. He was written about by the greatest Croatian literary critic names of that time (Barac, Fotez, Smerdel, Gašparović, Milković, Fedorov, Kovačić, Rabadan). Begović is undoubtedly the most acknowledged and the most popular Croatian author abroad and the most produced Croatian play-wright on foreign stages at that time. Thus, the total reception of his works crossed the primary literary-critic borders, and Begović became the best choice for the artistic and political affirmation of Croatian people.
