Systemic models for calcutaions of moulds for injection moulding of thermoplastics
Mould for injection moulding of thermoplastics is a specific element of the injection moulding system. At the same time, the mould represents a very complex and complicated system, and its development requires special attention. During the development of the mould, the designer needs to carry out a great number of activities in a correct order. Calculation of the mould which includes rheological, mechanical, and thermal calculation of the mould, is a very important activity in the development of a mould. The mentioned calculations can be carried out by means of analytic calculations, and using computer simulation (numerical calculations). The practice has shown that appropriate models need to be developed, especially for the young and inexperienced designers, which allow clear definition of all the phases of mould calculation, as well as their correct order of realisation. This insures that the calculation of the mould for injection moulding of thermoplastics is complete and accurate. A method which allows development of such models is the systemic analysis whose concepts can be used to describe any system. The systemic models of mould calculation have resulted from the application of the systemic analysis concepts on the mould calculation. Using the systemic mould calculation models, the calculation becomes clearer, and the wrong order of the sequence of activities is avoided. From the systemic calculation models the mould designer can see which input and output data are required during each of the activity in the mould calculation.
