Sentence repetition task and other measures of language development in Croatian SLI and typically language developing children
Described research is a part of the larger project in which several tasks were used (sentence repetition, narrative tasks etc.) together with standardised language tests in order to compare the results of children with specific language impairment with typically developing children. Sentence repetition task (SCT) is constructed with several levels of difficulty, following the design of similar English task (Marinis, 20120). Levels are determined by syntactic complexity of syntanctic structures. Results on SCT were correlated with the result of standardised test of syntactic development (Test For Reception of Grammar – Test razumijevanja gramatike, Kuvač Kraljević, Hržica, Kovačević, Kologranić, in press). High correlation of the result showed that the task could be used as a material for the measurement of syntactic development.
