In Memoriam Hubert Maver

With the departure of Professor Hubert Maver, dear teacher, colleague and friend, all of us have lost a lot. This extraordinary man, who has always calmly find solutions, is no longer among us. Professor Maver was the moral and intellectual towering figure in the field of anthropology in Croatia and worldwide. He was the initiator of many scientific research projects primarily in the field of human biology, particularly of investigations of physical capacities, nutrition, growth and development, as well as of ageing of human organisms. Unfortunately, due to his commitments in the army, this truly pioneer researches in bio-anthropological sciences remained unknown to wider scientific public.
